The Best Local Publisher Award

The Best Local Publisher award, worth AED 25,000, honors a Sharjah or UAE-based publishing house for its creativity and contribution to the literary scene by promoting local authors and the region's cultural life.
The Best Arab Publisher Award

The Best Arab Publisher Award

The Best Arab Publisher award, valued at AED 25,000, is awarded to a Arab publishing house in its contribution to the development of Arabic literature. It rewards publishers who have contributed to the cultural and intellectual growth of the Arab world by producing innovative and high-quality publications.
The Best International Publisher Award

The Best International Publisher Award

The Best International Publisher award, valued at AED 25,000, is awarded to an international publishing house that has made a great contribution to the literature world. The award recognizes publishers that promote cross-cultural interaction and international literary diversity.

Participation Conditions

    1. Participants must also attend the Sharjah International Book Fair edition for which they are nominated.
    2. They must publish with integrity and excellence. Specialisation is preferred.
    3. They must be members of a publisher's association in their own country, if any.
    4. They must be members of regional and international publishing house's associations. 
    5. They must strictly observe publishing requirements, intellectual property rights and comply with current professional standards in the publishing industry.
    6. They must publish titles that provide substantial scientific contribution and help develop key sectors of society. 
    7. They must contribute to improve the profession, by publishing revised editions and translations that meet the standards for publication.
    8. They must have published at least 10 titles in their specialisation at the time of their nomination for the award.
    9. The winners will be announced at the start of the Sharjah International Book Fair.
    10. The awards will be distributed in the presence of representatives of the winners at the Sharjah International Book Fair.

Arbitration and Criteria

  1. Applications must be submitted online. Please send the documents listed below to the email address: awards@sibf.com
  2. A short presentation of the nominated publishing house, which includes its editorial policy, specialisation and professional standards.
  3. The contact details of the publishing house, which include a mailing address. Phone numbers, email addresses.
  4. Written confirmation from the publishing house stating that the publishing house has not already won a publishing house award at the Sharjah International Book Fair.
  5. A copy of the passport or proof of identity of the publishing house owner.
