The Best International Fiction Book

This award celebrates originality in global fiction, honoring creative and unique works that set new standards in the literary field.
The Best International Non-Fiction Book

The Best International Non-Fiction Book

The Best International Non-Fiction Book Award honors outstanding works that redefine the genre, recognizing unique and original contributions to global non-fiction literature.

Participation Conditions

    1. Nominated books must be written in the English language only.
    2. Nominated books must represent a novel and distinctive contribution within their respective field.
    3. The first edition of the nominated book should have been published within the two years preceding the current SIBF.
    4. The nominated book must not be a revised edition.
    5. The nominated writer should not have received the Best International Book Award in the past two years.
    6. SIBF organizers will retain submitted copies and will not return them to the nominees.
    7. SIBF organizers hold the right to utilize covers and excerpts from awarded books in all types of SIBF marketing communications without requiring approval from the publisher or writer.

    How to Apply:

    1. Submit three published copies of the book for the award (please note that these copies will not be returned).
    2. Print the electronic participation form and resend it by mail.

Arbitration and Criteria

  1. Candidates have no entitlement to contest any decisions made by the jury.
  2. Nominations close at the end of September each year.
  3. Winners will be announced at the start of the current SIBF.
  4. Winning writers will be invited to attend the awards ceremony before the current SIBF.
  5. The prize value will be equitably divided between the author and the publishing house unless the publishing contract and intellectual property rights state otherwise.
  6. Recognition and appreciation will be exclusively directed towards the author.
